Marcel Mouly Lithgraph, titled, "Les Voilieas"
Marcel Mouly-Les Voilieas 2001 Lithograph on wove paper. 12.5 x 18.5 signed and numbered. Born in Paris in 1918, Mouly was heavily influenced by the work of Picasso, Matisse, and Braque. He studied painting at the French Academies and later became the protege of Jacques Lipchitz, from whom he learned Cubism. Mouly won the Chevalier de l'Order des Artes et Lettres in 1957, and the Premier Prix de Lithographie in 1973. Mouly has exhibited all over the world and currently has paintings in the Musee Nationale d'Art Moderne, Paris, the Musee de Geneve and the Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Sadly Marcel Mouly passed away on January 7, 2008.
